Margaret began her teaching career at the age of 19 at Parkhill Memorial School and met the love of her life, Hugh T Brown, at a dance in Grand Bend. After farming in McGillivray Twp for a few years, they, with 7 yr old Robert and 4 yr old Janis, moved to Parkhill. Margaret spent many years teaching the children of Parkhill including her own two in Grades 3 & 4. She went on to complete her career at Stephen Central School, Crediton. When asked at the age of 86 whether she enjoyed her career, Margaret's response was an unequivocal - " I LOVED IT!" Special family gatherings with great memories were made with the Brown and Trott families; support and love were freely given to Hugh and Margaret as a couple in times of need. Special acknowledgement to the late Dr. William Scrimgeour for his care and friendship.
An organized and detailed woman, Margaret was meticulous in planning the big and small day to day events, including the many details of her own memorial service. Taking great pride in her family, Margaret wanted to be sure her many family members, whom she loved so abundantly, were noted as her pride and joy.
Special thanks to thoughtful friends and family who made Margaret's later years cheerful.... and a little less lonely; John Trott, Susan Trott, Diane & Jessica Furtney, Gayle George, Valarie Thomson, Lynda Earley, and Doreen McLinchey " To the Gems of Parkhill", the nurses, staff and Dr. Whynot of Chartwell Parkhill, your extraordinary care and dedication in your diligence to protect your residence against the COVID pandemic in addition to the day to daycare is much appreciated.
