Russell Fred Romphf of Thedford died suddenly at home on Friday, November 27, 2020, at the age of 88.
Russ was the loved husband of Dorothy Romphf (Henry) whom he shared his life for 70 years. Together Russ and Dorothy raised their family of Debbie Romphf and Terry Romphf and enjoyed the smiles and special memories of their grandchildren, Stacey Romphf, Billie Elliott, Elaine Moore, and Janet Bergsma, a well as their great-grandchildren, Samantha Bottrell, Justine Romphf, Seth Moore, Gavin Moore, Trinity Bergsma, and Greyson Bergsma.
Russ will be missed by his siblings Don Romphf and Evelyn Romphf and is predeceased by his parents George and Winifred Romphf, siblings Orval, Ronald, Gordy, and good friend Gordon MacDonald. Russ is remembered by his extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Russ's home was always filled with music, the sounds of fiddles, violins, and guitars were always a familiar sight over the years. Russ enjoyed his working days, whether it was fishing for Purdy's and Harrowers, looking after plant operations at the Asphalt Plant, or his greatest passion, working with and selling scrap metal. Russ worked hard and took pride in a full day's work.
A sincere thank you from the family to Thedford Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services for their immediate response.
Donations in Russ's memory are appreciated to Operation Smile Canada, an organization that delivers free surgery to children in need; a special way to continue to allow others to share in the beautiful smiles of children.
