Robert William Classen of Port Franks died at home on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at the age of 81. Born in South Africa, the loved husband of Jane Classen (2019) for over 50 years and the youngest brother of Jim Classen. Robert leaves a legacy in his children, Roberta Classen & Ed (Hamlyn), Trevor & Andrea Classen, Sara-Jane Classen, and grandchildren Jewel, Sam, Emberlee, Ethan, Ivy, Braylen, and Ashton
Robert found true contentment working on his gardens, especially in his memories of moments shared working in the yard with his beloved wife Jane. Their home in Port Franks was definitely their pride and joy with the incredible changes they had made in the 30 plus years they lived there. From stone walls and flagstone patios, to beautiful gardens filled with plants, flowers, statues and fountains, all built together by hand.
Robert loved gardening, watching the birds, animals and all nature as it bloomed in his presence. A sci-fi movie fan, Robert enjoyed a good show and listening to the news, occasionally even strumming his guitar in years gone by.
Family and friends continue to celebrate Robert's life. A kind man, who loved to laugh, tell stories and reminisce.
