Michael Lester Lockrey of Lambton Shores died at North Lambton Lodge on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at the age of 76.
Mike is lovingly missed by his children Todd (Danielle) Lockrey, Troy Lockrey, Tracy (Drew) Smith, Clint Smith, Travis (Erinn) Smith, Brandie (Kevin) Smith, and their mothers Shirley Smith and Freda Smith. Mike will also be missed by his Grandchildren Finn, Jed, Megan, Matthew, and Rose.
Mike grew up the oldest son of the late Harvey and Hannah Lockrey. Mike will be missed by his siblings Joanne (Richard) Lewylle, Patricia (Steve) Powell, his niece Selina Powell, extended family and great friend Michael Wilson.
Growing up on the farm, Mike worked all his life in the richness of the bogland, growing and harvesting vegetables, including beets and onions while driving his blue Ford tractor through the fields. When Mike wasn’t working he was off enjoying demolition derby’s and tractor pulls at the county fairs or a Nascar race on the tv.
Mike was a hard-working, strong-willed man, with a gruff exterior and a soft heart. Always ready with a joke for his visitors, Mike was able to make lemonade out of lemons with all that life had to throw at him. Mike’s family would like to thank the North Lambton Lodge, as well as the Bluewater Health Dialysis Department for the kindness and care shown over the past years.
