Helen lived her life loving her God, her family, and all those around her. She looked for joy and shared kindness. She lived the last four decades of her life in the home that her grandmother purchased the year that Helen was born. In this house, “Grandma’s old house,” Helen loved visiting around her kitchen table and sharing her roast beef Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren. In her nineties, she continued to be surrounded by faithful friends who took her to church, to Bible study, to coffee hour, and to her writers’ group. Helen was also thankful for her wonderful healthcare providers who cared for her at home until May of 2019 and for those who continued that wonderful care at the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and the Watford Quality Care Centre.
She remained interested in the lives of so many and cherished her special visits with family and friends throughout the years. Her life was immeasurably enriched by the love and hugs of the precious little ones in her life and she continually encouraged them and her entire family. She will be greatly missed.
A private interment service will take place at the Arkona Cemetery on Sunday, March 22, 2020. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
