Kenneth Herbert Jamieson of Arkona died peacefully at Watford Quality Care in Watford on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 in his 88th year.
Ken and his life long best friend and loved wife Donna raised their family of Doug and Kathy and continued to see their family tree grow with the additions of daughter in law, Karen and granddaughters, Emma and Willow.
Ken grew up in Thedford by the landmark tree that grew through the roof of the local sawmill. The middle child in a family of five, including two sisters Marj and Marie, Ken is also predeceased by his brothers Norm, Ron and parents Grant and Wilhilmina.
Ken spent his youth working hard, beginning as many did then, working at the bog and taking his savings to the bank, where he would eventually meet Donna. Ken wasted no time and asked Donna’s Dad for her hand in marriage, a journey of 64 years together, working hard, and eventually retiring, traveling and enjoying cottage life with friends, family, and four-legged buddy, Jasper the cat.
A graveside service will take place at the Arkona Cemetery on Wednesday, January 8, at 11am with Rev. Dr. Christine O'Reilly officiating. Friends and family are asked to dress in comfortable attire and join the family for a casual time of remembering following the service.
Donations are appreciated in Ken’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association. A sincere thank you to Watford Quality Care for the comfort and excellent care that you provide.
