Olga Winnifred Thompson of Parkhill, formerly of McGillivray Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late Roy Harold Thompson (1999). Dear mother of Harold & Mona May Thompson of Brigden, Gary & Mary Margaret of McGillivray Township, and Debbie-Lynn & William Farquhar, Connaught.
Grandmother to Susan(Rob), Cameron(Vanessa), Carl(Jacquie), Roxanna(Lee), Brandon(Katy), Caroline (Scott), Kathleen(Adam), Genevieve, Jason(Lyndsay), Kerri-Lynn(Tyler) and 22 great-grandchildren. Olga is predeceased by her parents and brother Cecil.
Olga was always up for a birthday party or family get together. A woman with an active involvement in her community, from driving a school bus, working at Chateau Gardens Retirement Home, farming and organizing the family. Olga was a knitter and quilter for years, making quilts, mittens, slippers and baby sweaters for the kids and those in need.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 2pm-5pm at M.Box & Son Funeral Home, 183 Broad Street in Parkhill with a service to follow on Monday, December 30 at 1pm with Rev. Mark Isaac officiating. A reception will take place at Grace Bible Chapel in honour of the special memories with Olga's church family following the interment at the Parkhill Cemetery. Donations are appreciated in Olga's name to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
