Mary Kathyn Poore (Fleming) of Parkhill passed away on Monday, February 4th, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family at Victoria Hopsital in London. Mary was the wife and best friend of Joe Poore for over 38 years and together they loved and cherished their family of Susan & Andy Cloutier, Ken & Ciro Town and Don & Hess Town. Mary will be greatly missed by her Grandchildren Maddy, Gennie, Bella, Megan, Jessica, Adrian and Sydney.
Growing up on a dairy farm, Mary was the middle child of her siblings Marjorie, Jean & Lew, Bill & Janet, Dorothy & Bob, Jamie & Marilyn and Elaine & Norm. Always cherished by her family, Mary added to the joy of Joe's family, and his siblings Marjorie, Viola and Eleanor & Rick who she made an instant connection with. Mary is predeceased by her parents Jim & Kaye and brothers-in-law George, Al and Adrian.
Mary would beam with pride spending time with her family, special times included Christmas, fishing, family camping trips and time at the cottages. A talented woman who quilted and baked, Mary spent her working days serving others whether as an RNA working in hospitals, a social worker at Dashwood Industries or working with London Public Housing. In addition Mary was a musician at heart, playing the violin and being involved in performing at events in Brownsville, Texas where Joe and Mary wintered the last 12 years after their retirement.
A service will take place on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11am at M.Box & Son Funeral Home, 183 Broad St., Parkhill with visitations taking place on Wednesday, February 6 from 6pm-8pm and Thursday, February 7 from 10am-11am. Rev. Mark Isaac officiating, interment to take place at the Sylvan Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Wagner and Jeff of St. Elizabeth Health Nursing for their compassion and care for Mary and her family as well as the medical staff at the Victoria LHSC.
