Lola Beatrice Wilcocks of Forest, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at North Lambton Lodge in Forest in her 93rd year.
The loved wife of the late Murray Wilcocks (2017), Lola and Murray raised their family of the late Marilyn Karr (2007), Beverly (John) Stamos of Lucan, and the late Karen Wilcocks (2016). Lola was the cherished grandmother of Jeff (Sarah), Rod (Stephanie), Devon (Mike), Trevor (Katie), Meghan (Ziggy), Katelyn, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lola grew up in Saskatchewan and is predeceased by her siblings, Gordon, Jimmy, Bill, Gerry, Margaret, and Doreen.
Lola moved to Ontario in 1950, met, and married Murray in 1951 before going on to settle in Arkona. Lola loved to embroider and sew, a skill we are currently seeing in such value with the COVID masks. Lola sewed the kid's clothes and was a prize baker, making up to 15 different pies at the same time for the workers on the farm when it was silo filling time. Lola wore many hats, including being Murray's "handyman" in the barn for the day to day repairs needed around the farm. Known for her three wheeling travels, one skill Lola never mastered was riding a two-wheel bike, but Lola was always surprising others with her many mastered talents.
Lola's family are thankful for the many visits from family and friends. Donations are appreciated in Lola's name to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society.
